Resonate is all about promoting a sustainable local music scene. A scene where talented songwriters can showcase their music with great sound and lighting operated by an industry professional – and get paid.

Resonate was conceived as an alternative to the current epidemic of open mic nights/Jam nights with bad sound/lighting (There seems to be one popping up on every corner!), and dodgy band competitions.

You can help support a sustainable local music industry simply by turning up at Resonate each week, and as a bonus catch the very best local artists performing in a safe, musician and punter friendly environment.

Presented by Pandamonium Records and originally staged at the Courthouse Hotel in 2003 and then later the Grand Hotel in Cairns where it is currently staged, Resonate became a local institution with Dan Sultan, Emma Louise, Danny Ross, Steve Towson and many more having all played Resonate early in their careers.

The night has also hosted countless touring and local original acts over the years. Resonate has become well known on the touring circuit with many touring bands passing through stripping back to a few members to get an extra gig while in town and making their tour more financially viable.

This ain’t no stinking open mic night, this is RESONATE!

Entry is free every Thursday night from 7pm at the Grand Hotel in Cairns
