THE JULLIETTES – started as a small TAFE music student project but singer/songwriter Jules had a dream, a will and a short line up of songs that they got to working on in hopes of playing the Tablelands Folk Festival. In October 2021 they opened the 40th Anniversary Yungaburra folk festival. Jules had attended this festival for the first time at 4 months old and watched her parents perform there many times after. This same year, Juliettes band member Bella Won the Original Songwriters Competition. The band are about to release their debut E.P/CD ‘State Like This’ which should be available on streaming/download services just before their Panda Room gig. We look forward to the return of The Juliettes!

THE CODE – Making their Panda Room debut this month is The Code, featuring award winning songstress Katie Jay. The Code have had a break for a while and are back ready to rock with a renewed vigour. The band made news back in 2015 when they were invited to go and play in San Francisco on a show with former members of legendary bands The Grateful Dead and Hot Tuna.

THE BRAZILIANS – are the De facto Panda Room house band (well it’s their P.A and lighting rig powering the gig, and the venue is their drummers fast food shop!) The Brazilians were borne in the pubs nestled amongst the Mulgrave Delta cane fields of deep far north Queensland. The band got their start playing loud and proud, the twin guitar attack of Macalpine & Williams competing against the industrial din of the Gordonvale sugar mill pumping 24/7 across the road from their gigs.
“The Brazilians rock. Has a great tough swagger!!!!! Love it” – Ray Ahn, The Hard Ons

THE KOFFIN ROCKERS – We are REALLY excited about this one, making their Panda Room Debut this month is The Koffin Rockers, all the way from Townsville.
Laidback larrikins Michael Hegarty (guitars/vox), Shaun Butcher (upright bass/vox) and Dean Gilboy (drums/vox) personify the musical genre they play: a mix of balls to the wall rock n roll, in your face punk, toe-tapping pop and just enough hillbilly to make you realise you’re not in Kansas anymore. This is completely new territory, so let The Koffin Rockers be your guide.
Check your inhibitions at the door, because TKR will get you on the dance floor with their no frills, all thrills stage shows that have been winning fans across the country. The band formed back in 2011, and since then have wowed crowds up and down the east coast of Australia. From HOtter Than Hell (TSV, GLD), Townsville’s Rock n Rods Nostalgia Festival, Stones Corner Festival, Fist Fest Punk Festival, the Airlie Beach Music Festival, Autumnfest Maitland, Towers and Stanthorpe Rocks, Cooly Rocks and Brisbane’s Greazefest Kustom Kulture Festival.

Transparent Komeleon – Herberton band Transparent Komeleon – Max Munro, Josh Ekblad and Ace Munro made a big impact on the Panda Room when they played last time, and we thought they would be the perfect band to keep the dance floor going after The Koffin Rockers. These guys play a great mix of rock n roll with a punk edge and put on a fantastic show, we are looking forward to their return..
