Resonate is all about promoting a sustainable local music scene. A scene where North Queensland’s best singer songwriters can showcase their music with great sound and lighting operated by an industry professional.

Resonate is NOT an open mic night – far from it. All acts playing at Resonate are carefully screened to ensure that the Resonate crowd only get to witness the best local and touring original singer songwriters that North QLD has to offer. All acts playing at Resonate are paid to ensure the iconic weekly gig attracts the best acts and quality control is maintained.

Presented by Pandamonium Records and originally starting in 2003 at the Courthouse Hotel on Thursday nights, and laterfter the council aquired the Courthouse Hotela at the Grand Hotel with a new Sunday afternoon session format. Resonate has become a local institution with Dan Sultan, Emma Louise, Greta Stanley, Danny Ross, Women in Docs, Steve Towson and many more having all played Resonate early in their careers.

The night has also hosted countless touring and local original acts over the years. Resonate has become well known on the touring circuit with many touring bands passing through stripping back to a few members to get an extra gig while in town and making their tour more financially viable.

Resonate moved to Raintrees Tavern Beergarden in 2020  and was staged every Sunday 2pm – 5pm until COVID shut the industry down. Along with all the Resonate faithful, we look forward to it’s return someday!
